We need volunteers for upcoming EVents
National Drive Electric Week, Sep 27-Oct 6, 2024, is a nationwide celebration to raise awareness of the many benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more. National Drive Electric Week (NDEW) is rapidly approaching and there is no better time to bring a friend and take a test drive. Are you considering going electric?

If you are an EV owner, j
oin us at one or more these upcoming EVents to share your EV insights with others. You can clear up misconceptions about EVs by providing your personal experience with fuel costs, maintenance costs, charging infrastructure, and charging at home.

If you are EV curious, you can get your questions answered directly by EV owners and take a test drive at some of the EVents.

As always, contact Guy Hall at (916) 717-9158 for details or check the SacEV.org calendar.

Special event - wind farm tour
Once again, SacEV and SMUD are granting this special tour of SMUD's wind farm.  SMUD replacing existing wind turbines with up to 19 new modern turbines to generate 85 MW of renewable energy for the electric grid.   That's about 300,000 EV miles on an hour of production.   Sorry, no charging on site.

We can bring 20 participants.  In the two prior visits, we quickly filled the slots up. The first 20 people requesting to join are in.  Send an email to info@sacev.org with the subject "Wind Farm" and how many in your group to hold your spot.
SacEV marketplace
SacEV wants to make it easier for early adopters of EVs to pass on their "clean rides" to another generation of owners. We offer this Marketplace for current owners to reach potential customers. Learn from PEV owners. There is no cost for owners to post. Go here to post your PEV for sale or to inquire about a pending sale.
Have a used BEV or PHEV that you wish to sell, but would love to give the new owner a chance at the IRA $4,000 rebate? If so, connect with KeySavvy, which operates as a used car dealership, costing only $99 to the listing owner. Unlike traditional private party sales, when you buy an eligible used EV using KeySavvy, the buyer may qualify for a tax credit of 30% of the purchase price, up to $4,000.
  • The vehicle must be in the list of eligible vehicles
  • You must be a qualified buyer
  • The purchase price must be $25,000 or less.
Check here for details.
Join the national Electric Vehicle Association
We invite you to join other SacEV members by becoming a member of the national Electric Vehicle Association. As an EVA member, you will be part of a national grassroots community that advocates for EVs in the USA. The national EVA is critically important to SacEV since it handles our administrative chores (like tax filings, non-profit status, banking service, insurance, and legal help) and provides value in the form of webinars and two nationwide events, National Drive Electric Week and Drive Electric Earth Day.

What else do you get?

  • LOW-INTEREST LOANS.  The EVA has partnered with a credit union to offer members low-interest loans on electric vehicles, solar, and electric bikes.
  • BATTERY HEALTH REPORTS FROM RECURRENT AUTO.  The EVA is working with Recurrent to better understand battery degradation and range loss, particularly for used electric cars. Contribute to this initiative by signing up for free monthly battery reports and to share anonymous battery data. Recurrent is donating $10 to the EVA for each new EV signup, allowing us to expand and enhance our programming.
  • BLUEDOT.  EVA members are eligible for $10 off the first charge + $0.30/kWh charging all the time on the Bluedot network. Contact membership@myeva.org and ask for the bluedot code.
  • NEOCHARGE.  $125 off the NeoCharge Smart Splitter. Contact membership@myeva.org and ask for the NeoCharge code.
  • NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES.  Networking with EV advocates at events is just one of the many benefits of becoming a member. Join one of our committees and use your skills to make an impact.
  • EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES.  The EVA offers ongoing virtual meetings, resources, and more, including our EV Educate Certificate Program and EV blog.
  • BENEFITS TO OUR LOCAL CHAPTER.  SacEV receives a portion of your membership fee to help fund the work you do in our community.
Check the SacEV calendar for the latest EV-related activities.
